My Trip to Las Vegas
My Trip to Las Vegas
This trip is a few years old but I thought I’d share with you my experience going to Las Vegas for the first time. My friends and myself had been planning this trip for the longest time and we wanted to make it a holiday to remember.
It was a 10 hour and 45 minutes flight to Vegas. We arrived at McCarron International airport and a cab to the MGM hotel. Our driver looked like Michael Mcintyre which we (and the driver) found amusing. Going inside the MGM was amazing, it was stunning and gave a feeling of luxury. We got to our room, the décor looked great and we had a nice view of the strip. After unpacking we went downstairs to have dinner in the rainforest café and we spent the rest of the evening playing the slot machines.
After a well needed night sleep we woke up nice and early and walked down the Las Vegas strip. It was about 10 in the morning and was starting to really heat up. We went into a few hotels like Paris and Luxor. We ended up in the Venetian and were totally blown away. The way the hotel was decorated and the size was breath – taking. They had indoor Gondola rides, which of course, we had to have a ride. After that we had dinner and watch Cirque Du Soleil at the MGM.
On the third day, we relaxed by the pool, there was a total chilled vibe. They had music playing and lots of little drink places. We went to the Hard Rock Café for lunch and the food was great and we had margaritas (you know you’re on holiday when you’re drinking at noon). That evening we went to the New York Hotel and again the inside was amazing. It’s all decorated like the streets of New York and, of course, we had pizza. They have a roller coaster at the top of the hotel which was great we got to see some great view of Las Vegas but admittedly we were too afraid to open our eyes most of the time.
The fourth day was the day we were all waiting for. We were going to the Grand Canyon. We were picked up outside our hotel by our coach and along the way we picked up another group, they were all fellow English people and were really great to talk to. We stopped off at the Hoover Damn on route. It was so impressive; the structure was so large and quite intimidating. We arrived at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch and given a tour of the ranch, there was so much history, it was really fascinating. We first had a horseback ride, we went around the ranch and saw wild Buffalo, it was a nice surprise to the day. After this, we went on the helicopter. There was so nice nervous excitement in our group as none of us has been on a helicopter before. Straight away the scenery was magnificent. The Canyon felt like it would go on forever. It was so stunning and every picture I took looked like something out of a book (and I’m not that great at taking photos). It was such an amazing experience.
